Day 4: The Heart Mirror Challenge

  • Mar 12
  • 1 min read
People reflect in front of a glowing heart with text from Psalms promoting internal work, clarity, and selflessness in a digital setting.

What’s Really Driving Me? (Selfish Tendencies)

Draw three boxes on your paper.

Label them:

1. My Comfort

2. My Image

3. My Control

These represent the three most common roots of selfishness.

In each box, write one recent moment where you:

• Wanted your way

• Reacted quickly

• Felt irritated

• Didn’t want to share

• Wanted to be first

• Protected your pride

What Would Jesus Do Here? (Selflessness)

Under each example, write:

“How Jesus would respond…”

Then describe the selfless posture Jesus modeled in Mark 10:45:

  • Serving

  • Listening

  • Slowing down

  • Giving

  • Humility

  • Patience

  • Compassion

Which One Is the Real Win?

Draw a checkmark next to the response that leads to:

  • Peace

  • Growth

  • Maturity

  • Stronger relationships

  • A heart that looks like Jesus

Then write:

“The real win here is…”

Your Alignment Statement!

Write one sentence:

“Today, I will pay attention to my motives.”

Not an act of kindness.

Not an outward gesture.

Just awareness and alignment.

Write this prayer at the bottom of your page:

“Lord, show me where selfishness is shaping my reactions. Teach me the strength of selflessness. Help me choose the real win — Your way.”
