When You Don’t Feel Qualified
God Uses The Willing, Not The Qualified — He Meets You Right Where You Are.

📖“But God has chosen the foolish things of the world to put to shame the wise…” 1 Corinthians 1:27 (NKJV)
⭐God Works Differently
Feeling unqualified isn’t a flaw, and it isn’t a failure. It’s a familiar pattern we see all through the Bible. When Paul wrote to the church in Corinth, he was speaking to people surrounded by a culture that valued intelligence, confidence, and status. Being "impressive" mattered. But God works differently. He chooses people the world overlooks to show His power. He uses what looks weak to prove His strength and what seems foolish to reveal His wisdom.
This isn’t random; it’s intentional. God does it so no one mistakes His work for human talent. His calling has never been based on how confident or experienced someone feels. It’s based on His choice—and their willingness to trust Him.
⭐Your Willingness Counts
If you feel unprepared, unsure, or like you don’t belong, you’re in good company. Scripture is full of people who felt exactly what you feel:
Moses didn't think he could speak well. (Exodus 4:10).
Jeremiah thought he was too young (Jeremiah 1:6).
Gideon was scared and hiding (Judges 6:11-15).
None of them felt ready. But they were willing to listen—and God met them where they were. God isn’t asking you to impress Him; He’s asking you to trust Him. When you take a step in obedience, God’s strength shows up where yours runs out. Your weaknesses don’t cancel your calling; they give God room to work (see 2 Corinthians 12:9).
You don’t have to be the best, the loudest, or the most confident. You just have to be available.
⭐One Brave Step
Think about one area where you’ve been holding back because you don’t feel “ready.” Then take one simple step today—send the message, start the application, pray honestly, speak at a youth night, or revisit the idea you gave up on. God often works through small acts of obedience.
⭐Reflection
[ ] Where do you feel most unqualified right now?
[ ] What fear has been keeping you from saying "yes" to God?
[ ] How could God use your weakness to show His strength?
[ ] What is one step you can take today?
Lord, thank You for choosing me even when I don’t feel ready. Help me trust Your strength instead of my abilities. Give me courage to say yes and faith to move forward. Use my weakness to show Your power and my obedience to bring You glory. Amen.
